Maidstone
– 5th January 2007 – The second series of BBC’s prime-time lottery show, ‘1 vs 100’ is being made at The Maidstone Studios, Kent, in its new 12,000 sq ft Studio 5.
Presented by Dermot O’Leary, ‘1 vs 100’ challenges one person to eliminate 100 opponents. Imagine 100 opponents in front of you; 100 people wanting to defeat you; 100 people wanting to se you leave with no money whatsoever….
To win ‘1 vs 100’, a National Lottery format, the player has to eliminate all the opposition by correctly answering questions, hoping that their opponents will answer incorrectly and be eliminated from the game.
Executive Producer, Richard Hague, Endemol
UK
, said: ‘We chose The Maidstone Studios because the scale of the 1 vs 100 set meant there are very few studios big enough to house it.
Maidstone
’s new large TV studio was ideal for us. It worked out very well and the team behind the studios were excellent.’
Kenton Oxley, General Manager, The Maidstone Studios, said: ‘Studio 5 is ideal for game shows such as ‘1 vs 100’ that need space for the set and its uniquely large audiences. We are extremely pleased Endemol has chosen to work with us and we know they will enjoy our responsive, friendly and professional environment.’
Based on a Dutch lottery format, the first seven programmes were successfully launched in September 2006.
